Displayed my finds in New Curio cabinet

Postby Goes4ever » 06 Feb 2010, 08:45

my parents own a furniture store and I have been wanting a curio for some time now, to put some finds in to display. Well this week they picked it up for me, it was part of my Christmas present. Here is a couple pics

What a beautiful display Terry! I showed it to my wife and she said to me "do you have room in your office to do one like that, I really like it"? I laughed and told her "thats not the problem, I have to make all the neat finds first to fill it up"!

Seeing your old finds together gives one a wonderful sense of America's past...of simpler times when life meandered along at a much slower pace. What a great way to showcase your finds!

I have a lot more stuff but I tried not to "overload it" and make it look cluttered. I might need to just get another one for another room!

plus I just kinda scattered old coins I have found in there for looks. Most of my silver, indians, etc...are all in 2x2 flips, and I tried to put some in there and they just did not look right. I thought loose coins looked better

Looks great.

Yeah, loose coins look a lot better than anything in cardboard. There are some nice small wooden frames out there for displaying, you could lay one or two of those inside.

Great looking display Terry! Hhhhhmmmmmm I guess that is another good excuse to hit some flea markets and antique shops. I will have to keep an eye out for something like that.

Your case looks great !
I also have my misc. finds in a small case in our living room.
I've got a variety of coins - jewelry - draw pulls - copper buttons - bottle's - etc. in my case.

There's no mirror in mine but it still nice having a broad spectrum display of all the different types of stuff that we find in one place.

Nice display! Shows a great assortment of all the types of "good" stuff one finds with a detector (and their eyes open while detecting...)coins, jewelry, buttons, bottles, marbles, badges, buckles, tokens, etc. I always keep the current year's good finds out and then put them away and start on the next year... my shelves are looking a little empty right now.

Might be empty now but I am SURE if you even have half as good year in 2010 as you did in 2009, they will fill up quickly!
