My First Chaffeur's Badge

Postby Mr Kryptonite » 20 Feb 2008, 19:03

Hello Everyone,

Thought you might like to see my first chaffeur's badge. It took me many years before I finally found one. I found this Dec. 2007. This one has an expiration date of Sept 30, 1947. Was found at an old school that had burned down.

Were these for bus drivers? And, where did you find your badge..Mine was in a back yard...Next door was a gun shop from the 1830's. Had half expected to find some old coins from the period,no such luck..Cordially Nad :|

I found mine at an old house foundation in Colebrook Oh. I assume any truck and or bus driver had to have one with them or on them to be legally driving/operating on the roads.. It's what is now called a "Comercial Drivers License"{CDL}...But nowadays you dont get a nice badge to proudly display..You just pay ALOT more money for a different colored plastic drivers License....I know, I pay...
